Stars of Tomball Celebration Honors LSC-Tomball’s Community Partners

TOMBALL, TX:  Lone Star College – Tomball is proud to announce the inaugural Stars of Tomball Celebration honoring the community partnerships essential to the success of the college.  As an established and robust community college, LSC-Tomball serves the Tomball area in many important and essential ways and many of these efforts are due to the noteworthy support generously provided by local leaders, businesses and organizations.

The Stars of Tomball Celebration on November 19th at 7:00 p.m. in the Beckendorf Conference Center is a free event and open to everyone in the Tomball community.  A ticket will be needed to attend the event which includes dinner, an awards presentation and entertainment.

“The Stars of Tomball honorees are vital and indispensable members of the community and we are privileged to call them partners of LSC-Tomball,” said Dr. Lee Ann Nutt, President of LSC-Tomball. “We are thrilled to acknowledge their contributions to our college and community and to express our gratitude for their considerable support.”

The college’s success has been propelled by the contributions and engagement of its partners.  For example, the Tomball Regional Health Foundation has supported the college’s health science programs with grants for new faculty, staff and equipment.  Their support has helped make LSC-Tomball a leader in the efforts to educate the next generation of healthcare professionals and meet a growing demand for workers.

Another successful partnership is due to the leadership of Tomball ISD Superintendent Dr. Martha Salazar Zamora.  The partnership has led to the significant growth of dual-credit courses, where high school students can earn college credits and the establishment of the pioneering early college program at Tomball Star Academy.

Of the many individuals making contributions, Bruce Hillegeist, will receive the evening’s highest recognition, the “Star of Tomball” award.   Mr. Hillegeist is known for his work championing the Tomball area as President of the Chamber of Commerce.  LSC-Tomball is delighted to highlight his enduring efforts for the community and the countless ways he has supported the college.

As part of the event program, Dr. Nutt will present her new vision for the college that centers on providing the extraordinary experiences that empowers students to succeed, not only in the classroom but also in life.  She will also outline new plans and projects that will maintain LSC-Tomball’s standing as one of higher education’s best community colleges.
