Broaden Your Horizons with “Much Ado About Board Games” Bi-monthly Videos

Much Ado About Board GamesCypress, Texas (Aug. 10, 2020) - Don’t be bored, get on board for family fun with a new “Much Ado About Board Games” video series taught by one of Lone Star College-CyFair’s teen librarians.

Game enthusiasts Melanie Wachsmann and Monte Bingham decided to share their love of board games and introduce new, easy-to-play games to library patrons with a series available on YouTube at 6:30 P.M. every second and fourth Thursday.

Wachsmann and Bingham take family and friends beyond the typical Monopoly and Trivia Pursuit games everyone knows. They teach a lot of shorter card games, such as Illusion and Sprawlopolis, because many “heavier” games would take longer to explain and videos would be too long.  Coming soon to their twice-a month YouTube video series are Bugs in the Kitchen, Tokyo Highway, Fuji Flush and Azul.

“We wanted to give people who were quarantining a variety of games that are easy to teach, learn and play and we include games for different ages, especially ones that families can play together,” said Wachsmann.

Having received some great feedback such as people purchasing and enjoying the games and asking for recommendations, she said their summer series will continue through the fall semester.
