  • October 21: Book Historia
The books on your shelves are full of interesting and occasionally creepy stories … not just on their pages, but in their very shapes! Join Allie Alvis, Special Collections Reference Librarian of the Smithsonian Libraries, to learn about some spooky book history!

  • October 28: Gulf Coast Reads: Gods of Jade and Shadow
Dress up in your favorite Jazz Age or flapper costume and join LSC-CyFair Librarian Regina Vitolo for a lively discussion on this year’s Gulf Coast Reads book, “Gods of Jade and Shadow.” This Sylvia Moreno-Garcia Mexican folklore-inspired novel is about the Mayan god of death and a young woman sent on a harrowing, life-changing journey in this dark, one-of-a-kind fairy tale set in Mexico during the Jazz Age.
