LSC-Kingwood will host a Transfer Fair on Oct. 12 from 1-3 p.m. in the Student Conference Center.

Lone Star College-Kingwood will hold a Transfer Fair for anyone interested in earning their bachelor's or graduate degrees.

The free college fair, open to the community, will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 12 from 1-3 p.m. in the Student Conference Center. Colleges and universities across the state will attend to help people meet their academic goals.

"We are committed to helping our students and the community make a smooth transition from community college to a four-year university," said Nicole Keenan, Dean of Student Development at LSC-Kingwood. "Instead of having students contact each school individually, we wanted to bring the schools to them."

At the Transfer Fair, representatives from various institutions (listed below) will be on-site to provide information on transfer admissions, student services, financial aid and more. Attendees are encouraged to bring their transcripts to discuss their transfer options. The participating colleges and universities include:

  • The University of Texas at Austin
  • Texas Tech University
  • The University of Texas at Dallas
  • The University of Texas at San Antonio
  • Texas Lutheran University
  • The University of Texas Medical Branch School of Nursing in Galveston
  • FIDM/Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising
  • Texas State University
  • Stephen F. Austin State University
  • University of North Texas
  • Sam Houston State University
  • Texas Woman's University
  • McMurry University

"This event will allow students and the public to 'shop around,' examine several options, collect materials, speak with a representative and decide which school suits their needs," Keenan said.
