Program Details

Technical systems have become more and more complex and the definition of mechatronics has been broadened to include more areas that are technical. Mechatronic technicians are required to work on and with equipment integrating electronics, mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, hvac systems and computer controls. Mechatronics Pre- Apprentice fast-track certificate provides training in this  program that relates to the design of systems, devices and products aimed at achieving an optimal balance between basic mechanical structure and its overall control. While working in a hands-on environment students will discover each application in this field. This program is a combination of hands-on skills that prepare students to perform many different jobs in industries including petroleum-field services and automated manufacturing.

This certificate will earn 12 credit hours towards a field service technician degree.

The Mechatronics program will provide the necessary training for students who successfully complete, to sit for the MSSC Certified Production Technician (CPT) ® certification exam.  The CPT certification recognizes students through certification, who demonstrate mastery of the core competencies of advanced manufacturing production at the entry-level to front-line supervisor through successful completion of the Mechatronics program and the CPT certification assessment.
