Program Details

Corrosion Technology utilizes chemistry, electricity, physics, metallurgy and other sciences to prevent or control corrosion damage. Corrosion technicians apply these sciences to control the chemical and mechanical aspects that are involved in the deterioration of properties.

The Associate of Applied Science degree in Corrosion Technology prepares the student for the most common fields of corrosion control and integrity management.

  • The program includes hands-on training with state-of-the-art equipment and computer-based research.
  • There is a practical internship and opportunity to become certified by NACE International as a Level I Corrosion Technician and/or Level I Cathodic Protection Tester.
  • This degree also prepares the student for future certification as a
    • NACE Level I Coatings Inspector,
    • NACE Level I Internal Corrosion Technologist and/or
    • NACE Level I PCIM Technician (see latest NACE certification requirements for details).
