LSC-Kingwood: Rotaract Club

Rotaract does a world of good.

Clubs carry out at least one community service project and one international service project each year. Among myriad activities of their own choice, clubs:

  • Mentor and tutor children
  • Collect donated books
  • Organize camps and outings for people with disabilities
  • Raise funds for medical equipment, disaster relief, and PolioPlus
  • Create awareness of AIDS, drug abuse, and other issues

What is Rotaract?

Rotaract is a Rotary-sponsored service club for young men and women ages 18 to 30. Rotaract clubs are either community or university based, and they’re sponsored by a local Rotary club. This makes them true "partners in service" and key members of the family of Rotary.

As one of Rotary’s most significant and fastest-growing service programs, with more than 7,000 clubs in about 163 countries and geographical areas, Rotaract has become a worldwide phenomenon.

All Rotaract efforts begin at the local, grassroots level, with members addressing their communities’ physical and social needs while promoting international understanding and peace through a framework of friendship and service.

Benefits of Membership

Belonging to a Rotaract club provides members with an opportunity to make a contribution to their own communities and to communities around the world.

Members may join Rotaract for many reasons, including community involvement, personal development, professional networking, and camaraderie with fellow members. But perhaps the most important benefit is the satisfaction gained from making a real difference in the world.
