All applicants to the LSC-Tomball Pharmacy Technology program must be a high school graduate or have a GED and cannot have a history of a felony. Each applicant must register with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy as a pharmacy technician trainee.

Pre-Admission Requirements

- Minimum 2.0 GPA
- Complete program application (see link below) which includes an essay "Why I Want to Become a Pharmacy Technician"
Application
Students applying to the LSC-Tomball Pharmacy Technology program will be required to upload a copy of their essay on what has inspired them to become a pharmacy technician. Students are also required to upload their unofficial Lone Star transcript. Students can apply to the program by using this link:
A maximum of 20 students are accepted to the program each fall semester and each spring semester.
The application deadline for the January 2025 start cohort is Monday, January 6, 2025 at noon.
The application deadline for the August 2025 start cohort is Monday, August 4, 2025 at noon.
VI.A.2.1. Health Occupation Programs Admissions Policy - Health Occupation Programs do not consider applications from Prospective Students not at least 18 years old at the time of the program application's deadline - except that LSC-Tomball may honor a current contractual obligation with Klein ISD requiring the admission of students below the age of 18 years old. Any applicant that willfully misrepresents Material Information on the application will not be accepted or conditionally remain in a Health Occupation Program.

Post-Admission Requirements
- Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP) Background Check and Fingerprinting Please note that it will be a minimum of 6 weeks for your application to be reviewed and processed by TSBP.
- CPR Training (must be American Heart Association, BLS for healthcare professionals). The Junior League of Houston also offers free CPR training.
- Background Check (required by clinical affiliates)
- Drug Screening (required by clinical affiliates)
- Malpractice/Liability Insurance (paid when student registers for clinical I & clinical II)
- Health Insurance (not required by all clinical affiliates)
- Documentation of Current Immunizations
- MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) - documentation of 2 vaccines OR positive titer
- Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) - booster administered within last 10 years
- Hepatitis B - documentation of 3 vaccines OR positive titer
- Varicella - documentation of 2 vaccines OR positive titer
- TB (PPD) Skin Test
- Flu shot (required seasonally)

If you do not have immunization records, you will need to have titers drawn. Titers are blood tests that check your immune status to vaccinations. If your titer results are positive, you have adequate immunity to a particular infectious disease and do not need to get that particular vaccine.
Students must order package code LD47im from CastleBranch to upload immunization records and other program related forms. CastleBranch manages compliance tracking for Lone Star College.
Technology
The LSC-Tomball Pharmacy Technology Program course content relies heavily upon technology. For program and course success, it will be essential that you have access to a computer and to sufficient bandwidth. You also will be required to have access to a webcam to participate in courses as well as to take exams.
