Student Aid Grants are available to Lone Star College students thanks to the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSAA), passed by Congress on December 27, 2020.
Lone Star College will use the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to determine eligibility. Even if you do not traditionally consider yourself to be a “financial aid” student, complete the FAFSA as soon as possible to determine eligibility for these additional funds. You can access the application on www.FAFSA.ed.gov and enter Lone Star College’s School Code of 011145. Details on the steps required after completing the FAFSA will be forthcoming. Awards will be distributed as applications are reviewed and processed.
If you have already completed the FAFSA and have been awarded the Pell grant, you will automatically receive a Student Aid Grant. Awards will be distributed the week of February 15th.
The COVID-19 global pandemic continues to disrupt and create challenges in the everyday lives of people across the country and the world. We plan to assist as many of our students as possible with these Student Aid Grants to support continuing your education and balancing your other responsibilities. These funds may be used for any component of cost of attendance or for emergency costs that arise due to coronavirus, such as food, housing, health care (including mental health care) and childcare. Students that receive CRRSSA Student Aid Grants do not have to repay them.
Thank you for choosing Lone Star College, and we look forward to you reaching your goals!
