Conference Speakers
Mario K. Castillo
Mario is the Lone Star College Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel. Mario began his career at Lone Star as the General Counsel in 2015, became Vice Chancellor & General Counsel in 2016, and in 2017 he became the Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel. From 2020-2021, Mario was also the Interim College President at Lone Star College—Kingwood in addition to his other duties.
John R. Guest
John is the Deputy General Counsel for Lone Star College. His practice focus is on education and transactional law. He has also worked in the past in matters involving litigation, insurance, and personal injury law.
Davion P. White
Davion P. White is an Assistant General Counsel with Lone Star College. He is native of DeSoto, Texas. He graduated with a Bachelor and Master of Science in Education from Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Stephen A. Stack
Stephen is an Assistant General Counsel with Lone Star College. His practice focuses on transactions and education law. During law school he completed legal internships with the University of Texas System, the Texas Department of Insurance, a technology startup, and the law firm Hance Scarborough, LLP.
Brenda N. Soto
Brenda is the Director of the Office of Risk Management for Lone Star College. She and her team work collectively with various stakeholders to identify, assess, and mitigate risks impacting the College.
Christina T. Wood
Christina T. Wood is Senior Legal Counsel at Lone Star College’s Office of the General Counsel. Her current focuses are transactional and educational law, but Christina previously worked as an Assistant Criminal District Attorney focusing on criminal and Department of Family Protective Services matters.
Lorenzo Tolbert
Lorenzo has been a legal intern for the Office of the General Counsel since January 2022. Lorenzo is currently in his last semester at Thurgood Marshall School of Law.
