ďHow my Lone Star College Experience has Influenced my LifeĒ Share your personal experience at Lone Star College conveying how the impact of your educational experience has shaped and directed your life.
Students must be enrolled full-time or hours required by their Health Occupations program in credit classes at LSC-Montgomery or LSC-Conroe Center and have successfully earned their high school diploma or their GED certification.
Students should not already have a degree but should be working towards their first credential or degree.
A prior winner cannot win again.
The essay should highlight and detail how the impact of the studentís educational experience has shaped and directed his/her life.
The submission should not exceed two (2) typed pages, properly formatted and double-spaced.
The submission must include the studentís name, address, email and phone number.
Criteria for Evaluation
Expressive writing style, grammar, form, and inspiration/student success.
Two finalists will be selected from Lone Star College-Montgomery (or centers) and will receive a $1,000 scholarship and a certificate of recognition from the Lone Star College Foundation.
The scholarship is to be utilized during the studentís next full-time semester, preferably Spring 2022, but no later than Fall 2022.
The Chancellor and Foundation will select one student from each campus to read an abridged version of their essay at the 29th Annual Chancellorís Donor Appreciation Lunch. The date has not been finalized. Finalists may also be asked to participate in other Lone Star College events during the spring semester.
You must submit your essay by 5 p.m., Monday, November 1, 2021.
