HOUSTON, TX (Nov. 5, 2025) - Lone Star College-University Park (LSC-University Park) will host its third AI Symposium on Thursday, Nov. 13, 2025, at the Energy & Manufacturing Institute (EMI) on campus,11521 Compaq Center Dr., Houston, TX 77070. The two-hour event will explore the growing impact of artificial intelligence and how it is shaping industries, research and the future of work.

Led by LSC-University Park faculty members, the symposium invites students, professionals, and community members to expand their understanding of AI and discuss how it influences future careers.

“AI is here to stay, and at LSC-University Park, we’re finding new ways to integrate it into our faculty and staff’s work,” said Matthew Dempsey, M.S., Ed.D., president of Lone Star College-University Park. “With events like the AI Symposium, we’re giving our community the tools and confidence to see AI as a partner in innovation, industry, and education.”

The symposium aims to create open conversations about the rise of artificial intelligence and the questions that come with it. The event will feature LSC-University Park’s faculty members and speakers Vanessa Cox, Ph.D., Mohammed Ashour, Ph.D., Chelsea Davis-Bibb, Ed.D., and Alan Gandy. Each will present a different AI-related topic followed by a Q&A session. The free event is open to the public, and attendees are encouraged to register in advance

Scheduled topics include “The Bias Equations: People + Data – Intelligence (& Bias),” “The AI Co-Researcher,” “AI Won’t Take Your Job, But Someone Using AI Might,” and “Generative AI for Business.”
