The Bosque Gallery art season opens with Joshua Duttweiler’s exhibition on display Jan. 29-Feb. 26.

Come be involved in a conversation of issues impacting this community with guest artist Joshua Duttweiler’s interactive exhibition “Utopia Still Sounds Like a Good Idea” on display at Lone Star College-CyFair’s Bosque Gallery spring season opener.

As an educator at Texas State University, Duttweiler seeks to empower his students to creatively change the world for better and as an artist, he shares in his artist statement that he uses “the framework of design to investigate social justice issues, presenting a unique lens of critique for audience interaction. From print to digital to site-specific installation, the form and content relationships are uniquely designed to speak to its intended audience.”

Interaction and participation are strongly encouraged throughout much of Duttweiler’s work as is the case for the upcoming Bosque Gallery exhibition Jan. 29-Feb. 26.

“This show will be a further exploration of his social justice and climate issues via artwork installation – specifically around sea level rise and the impact of industrial transport on the lives of Texans on the coast,” said Heather Braman, gallery coordinator.

Meet Duttweiler, who has exhibited nationally and internationally, at the 5:30 p.m. opening reception in LSC-CyFair’s Center for the Arts building. Save the date, Feb. 12, to attend an insightful 1:30 p.m. Library Art Talk to learn more about Duttweiler’s artistic process and inspiration followed with an opportunity to view the exhibition.
