All who are selected for cast and crew must enroll in Theatre Practicum: DRAM 2121 or community members can register for continuing education credits. The rehearsal schedule is March 22-April 21, Monday through Friday from 4-7 p.m.

Performance dates for this production are scheduled for April 21 at 5:30 p.m. (free preview), April 22-23 at 7:30 p.m., and April 24 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Chase Waites, director for the production says, "The Miss Firecracker Contest is a delightful crowd pleaser and there are roles available for four women and two men. It is a period show set in the south in the 1980s, and we are looking forward to all of the fun that is associated with that era. Bring on the big hair!"

The Miss Firecracker Contesttakes place in a small town in Mississippi during the July 4th town fair. Carnelle is preparing to enter The Miss Firecracker beauty contest in hopes of erasing her tarnished past and starting a new future. The story speaks to what is true happiness and real beauty.
