LSCS job fairs to help job seekers network with employers

Lone Star College System will be hosting two career job fairs in the month of November. These events are free of charge and open to the public.

LSC-Cy-Fair will host its Technical Careers and Business Management Administrative Services Career Fair Nov. 14, from 3-7p.m. LSC-North Harris will host a Technical Careers and Business Management Administrative Services Career Fair Nov. 21, from 3-7p.m.

All veteran candidates will be offered early admission to the career fairs to engage and network with employers and veteran organizations from 2-3 p.m. “Lone Star College is committed to helping job seekers find meaningful employment,” said Linda Head, associate vice chancellor of workforce education and corporate partnerships. “Hosting these career fairs are just part of our obligation to improving the quality of life for all community members.”

The career fairs afford students and community job seekers the opportunity to connect with potential employers. Each career fair will have various employers on hand to discuss employment opportunities within their organizations, benefits, job requirements, skills being sought, prerequisites and more. It is a great way for job seekers to hone their job interview skills in a friendly environment.

Job seekers should bring several copies of their resumes that can be left with employers. They are also encouraged to dress professionally as on-site interviews may take place.

Workforce technical services careers include Engineering Design, Graphic Technology, Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning, Machining Technology, Welding & Inspection Technology, Energy & Manufacturing Technology, Automotive Technology, Cosmetology, Integrated Technology and Visual Communications. Business Management and Administrative Services careers include fields like Accounting, Business Administration, Marketing and Computer Information Technology.
