Lone Star College-North Harris prepares incoming students with new student orientation programs

Lone Star College-North Harris has announced the fall 2016 schedule for new student orientation programs for incoming students to prepare for the upcoming fall semester.

All First Time In College students must attend a new student orientation. During these two-hour sessions, students will be introduced to numerous programs and resources designed to facilitate their academic success at LSC-North Harris. Students will be unable to register for fall classes, which begin on August 29 until this requirement is completed.

This mandatory orientation showcases all aspects of college life including financial aid, campus clubs and activities, selecting courses, transfer information, tutoring programs, counseling services and campus tours.

“The best part of new student orientation is that students get to meet other new students and faculty, and get a feel for the campus before the first day of classes,” said LSC-North Harris program coordinator of new student orientation, James Martinez.

All new student orientation programs will be held in the college’s Community Education Building, CMED-101 located at 2700 W.W. Thorne Drive, Houston, TX 77073. Check-in will begin 30 minutes prior to the session’s start time.
