Active adults find low-cost classes at Lone Star College

Adults age 50-plus who have a desire to keep learning are invited to attend an Academy for Lifelong Learning (ALL) open house at Lone Star College which are scheduled to begin Jan. 9.

Active adults will find more than 600 classes, covering a wide-range of subjects including arts and crafts, gardening, photography, health and wellness, technology, genealogy, Tai Chi, Yoga, literary discussion groups, history, and many more.

“There are numerous classes taught by residents in the community, many who also teach at Lone Star College,” said Pat Chandler, system program manager for ALL. “This is a great opportunity for adults who are interested in expanding their knowledge in all sorts of subjects with others who share that interest.”

Classes are short-term, non-credit and last anywhere from a few hours to several weeks.

The open house events will take place throughout January and allow interested adults the opportunity to check out classes scheduled and ask questions of staff members who will be on hand.
