Make Our “Christmas Concert” Your Family Tradition

Holiday Concert 2019The Lone Star College-CyFair Chamber Singers and Jazz Ensemble are excited to collaborate for a special Christmas season performance Dec. 6.

The “Christmas Concert” is a powerful musical evening expressing the wonder of the season featuring the college’s talented student musicians and vocalists under the direction of music professors Dr. Alex Qian and Dr. John Wolfskill.

“With soulful jazz music and choir arrangements of songs both sacred and secular, this concert will be an uplifting tradition enjoyed by audiences of all ages and backgrounds,” said Dr. Wolfskill, who leads the college’s instrumental programs.

“In addition to some swinging instrumental music, specially arranged choir music will join the band for imaginative versions of classics like ‘Christmas on Broadway’, variations of ‘Jingle Bells’ and traditional carols,” said Dr. Qian, who leads the choral programs.

This holiday performance is also an opportunity to help stock the LSC-CyFair  “Food for Thought” Food Pantry, said Fine Arts Coordinator Joshua Estrada.

“Bring your family and friends to enjoy this concert for free,” said Estrada. “And, in this season of giving, we would love to see each patron bring a non-perishable donation for our food pantry to help students in need.”

The concert will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the Main Stage Theatre located in the Center for the Arts building at 9191 Barker Cypress.
