LSC-Atascocita Center will offer continuing education courses in accounting, Excel, QuickBooks, and GED this fall.
The Lone Star College-Atascocita Center, a satellite center of LSC-Kingwood, will offer seven continuing education (CE) courses this fall.
These programs will assist area residents in receiving a quick certification that they can use for various reasons such as professional development, increased earning potential, or entering the workforce. These CE programs are available throughout the semester and will take place in room 206.
“We want to be your next step toward an exciting career. Most continuing education classes require no college application or prior testing,” said Pat Chandler, director of continuing education at LSC-Kingwood.
Available programs, start dates, and times are:
- GED Full Review: Aug. 23-Oct. 12 from 2-5 p.m.
- Excel I (Bilingual Spanish): Aug. 23-Sept. 1, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
- Excel II (Bilingual Spanish): Sept. 9-Sept. 15 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
- Accounting Office I (Bilingual Spanish): Sept. 20-Oct. 6, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
- Accounting Office II (Bilingual Spanish): Oct. 11-27, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
- QuickBooks I (Bilingual Spanish): Nov. 1-10 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
- QuickBooks II (Bilingual Spanish): Nov. 15-29 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
The total tuition for the six classes (Accounting, Excel, and QuickBooks), which includes 112 hours of instruction, is $1,882. Upon successful completion, students will earn an accounting assistant/bookkeeper certificate. For those who take the 48-hour GED Full Review class, the tuition is $255. Additionally, students enrolled in at least one non-credit (CE) class are eligible to borrow a laptop or a loaded iPad bundle (keyboard, case, and pen) as long as they take college courses.
