Program Details

The Cisco Networking Academy teaches students both the fundamentals and advanced techniques of Cisco networking. Through Lone Star College's Cisco programs, students also learn collaboration and problem-solving skills through hands-on activities and network simulations. Upon completion of these programs, students have the practical knowledge they need to enter the workforce and be successful in a number of global industries.

Some students are recent high school graduates who want to turn their interest in computers into a career. Others already have careers in information technology but want to earn a Cisco certification or add to their current desktop, application or server skills by learning more about networking. There are also students who are turning unemployment into an opportunity to learn new skills to reenter the workforce. No matter what your background is, the Cisco Networking Academy is a great fit for anyone interested in information technology.

The computer networking specialization - Cisco Associate of Applied Science degree is awarded for successful completion of the 60 semester credit hours required in the degree plan. Certificates are available which provide an opportunity to acquire technical skills in two to three semesters.
