Program Pathway

To earn an Area of Concentration in IS, students must take at least 15 credit hours in IS-designated courses.

ENGL 2332 Survey of World Literature - Ancient World through the 16th Century 3
ENGL 2333 Survey of World Literature - 17th Century through Present 3
GEOG 1303 World Regional Geography 3
HIST 2321 World History to 1492 3
HIST 2322 World History from 1492 3
PHIL 1304 Introduction to World Religions 3

A student may also include one (1) foreign language course (3-4 credit hours). In addition, many core courses have been internationalized-from English to History to Art and Sciences.

Program Details

This AOC requires a minimum of 15 credit hours in courses that have the International Studies (IS) designation. 

Students must complete at least 50% of the courses towards the degree within Lone Star College to receive the AOC designation.
