Program Details

The Instrumentation Technology Associate of Applied Science degree program prepares graduates for entry-level careers as Instrument Technicians in the chemical processing industry. Courses within the program include Instrumentation and Safety, Process Instrumentation, Industrial Automatic Control, Distributed Control & Programmable Logic, Instrument Calibration, Fieldbus Process Control Systems, and Instrumentation System Troubleshooting. Through the use of state of the art simulation equipment, as well as hands-on applied technology training and general academic coursework, the student will develop the skills required to be a successful Instrument Technician.

The Instrumentation Technician Associate of Applied Science is awarded for successful completion of the 60 semester credit hours required in the degree plan. The duties of an Instrumentation Technician vary depending upon the industry with the primary responsibility of the Instrument Technician being to maintain, calibrate, troubleshoot, repair and replace process instruments. Graduates possess the technical skills and knowledge to perform these functions in petrochemical plants, refineries, power generation facilities, pharmaceutical plants, and food & beverage industries.

Tuition

Average full-time tuition is $862 per semester.
