We know that learning something new can energize, empower and uplift us, so now is a great time to access that joy of learning through classes designed to stretch your mind. There has never been a better time to join the Academy for Lifelong Learning (ALL) at Lone Star College-Carver Center 2330 S. Victory Street, Houston. ALL is a membership community, which provides free or low-cost, leisure learning classes and activities designed for Seniors 50+ years of age.  A one-time $20 annual membership fee is required to register for classes, but following that most offerings are free. However, some arts and craft courses or trips may require small materials or event fees. For more information call Carole Wiater at 281.765.7974.

May 5:
Basic Beading:
Discover how easy it is to design your own jewelry to meet your personal tastes or match a special outfit.
Bring inexpensive beads which can be found at craft, thrift, dollar, or hobby stores.  Also, needed are crimping pliers or needle-nosed pliers.
Class begins Wednesday, May 5, 10 to 11:30 a.m. taste

May 25:
The Sandwich Generation: 
From parenting to grand-parenting to how to help our aging parents, seniors today learn how to focus on caring for multiple generations while taking care of themselves. 
Erin Rock, community liaison, Home Instead Senior Care, will guide the class through how to make the best of navigating the Sandwich Generation.
Start date for this class is Tuesday, May 25, 10 to 11 a.m.
