LSC-North Harris Organizes Community Clean-up In Acres Homes

Lone Star College-North Harris invites faculty, staff and students to participate in a community trash pick-up in Acres Homes on Saturday, June 4 from 8 a.m. to noon. LSC-North Harris Professor Michael Harman and Joyce Wiley, an outreach coordinator at the college, are organizing the event.

Those interested in particpating should arrive at Carver (Winzer) Park between 8:00 and 8:30 a.m. on the day of the event to register. The park is located at 7201 Carver Road, Houston, Texas 77088. For more information contact Professor Harman at 281.618.5797 or Michael.J.Harman@Lonestar.edu.

The clean-up is part of the college's ongoing outreach in this North Houston community. One of the college's two satellite centers, LSC-Carver Center, currently serves students in the Acres Homes and Inwood Forest communities and will continue to offer classes through the summer.

LSC-Victory Center, an 85,000-square-foot facility now under construction, will be completed soon and is scheduled to open in the fall. It will replace LSC-Carver Center as the college's satellite center for the area. LSC-Victory Center will offer academic, workforce and adult education classes when it opens in August.
