HOUSTON (March 21, 2013) –Registration for Lone Star College System’s popular Discovery College summer camp begins March 23 at all campuses from 9 a.m. to noon.
The camps will be held this summer at LSC-CyFair, LSC- Kingwood, LSC-Montgomery and LSC-Tomball from Monday, June 10 through Thursday, August 8.
Discovery College summer youth camps offer a variety of fun and educational summer camp programs that will give children a unique opportunity to be introduced to the college experience.
Participating in Discovery College summer camps provides a unique opportunity for children to develop new skills and learn new ones in a warm, friendly environment led by knowledgeable instructors. Courses are offered for children ages 6 - 17 and vary by campus. Tuition is $89 per week and up.
A sampling of programs offered includes the popular Lemonade Stand, Bubbly Oozy Science, Just Dance, Cupcake Creation, The Digital World, Lego Engineering, CSI Crime Scene and RoboCamp.
“What differentiates Discovery College from other camps is that we strive to promote academic, social and emotional learning in all of our sessions,” said Sharon Jones, director of continuing education. “We strive to make learning fun and get the students excited about what Lone Star College and a college education can offer them in the future.”
