LSC-North Harris massage therapy program is now accepting applications for spring semester

Spring is just around the corner, so don’t delay! The Lone Star College-North Harris massage therapy program is now accepting applications for the spring semester. LSC-North Harris offers a fast-track massage therapy program for professional certification.

The massage therapy program is accredited through the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork and is licensed through the Texas Department of State Health Services. Once students complete the required program, they will be eligible to take the professional exam for massage therapy certification.

Students in the program learn the practice of using touch to manipulate the soft-tissue muscles of the body. Massage therapy is performed for a variety of reasons, including pain treatment, decompressing tired and overworked muscles, reducing stress, rehabilitating sports injuries, and promoting general health.

One of the most affordable massage therapy programs in the area, the LSC-North Harris massage therapy curriculum can be completed in approximately six months. Admission to the program is ongoing, with day and evening classes offered throughout the year.

Spring 2015 classes begin January 12 and end May 10. The full-time day class meets Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The part-time evening class meets Monday through Friday, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Prospective students are encouraged to attend an open house at the CHI Lone Star College-North Harris School of Cosmetology, located at 910 E. Richey Road in Houston, the first Monday of each month, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.  Faculty and staff will be on-hand to answer questions, give tours and assist students with the application process.
