Lone Star College-CyFair’s weekly programs this July include discussions on Hamlet, concepts of board games, staying healthy and some cool Vietnamese summer snacks.
The Learning, Inspiration, Fellowship, and Enrichment (L.I.F.E.) programs are free and held Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the library (Room 131 unless otherwise noted) at 9191 Barker Cypress. There will be no July 1 workshop due to Fourth of July holiday week.
- July 8 — Who Put the Ham in Hamlet?
Meet William Shakespeare’s Prince Hamlet all over again through Patrick Gunnels’ contrarian lens. Gain insight into the play’s language and history.
- July 15 — Board Game Culture and Con
Super board game aficionado Monte Bingham takes us beyond Monopoly and Yahtzee to explore the concept of the board game. Stay until noon to play a few games after the program ends.
- July 22 — Stay Healthy with a Doctor in the House
Some doctors just treat the symptoms. Dr. Steven Hotze of Hotze Health and Wellness shows how to look for what actually causes disease. Simple changes like diet and lifestyle can make a big difference in our well-being.
- July 29 — Cool Off Deliciously
Huyen Doan shows how to beat the heat with tasty chicken salad and Vietnamese-style sandwiches.
