Avoid the long lines and register early at one of Lone Star College-North Harris' Super Saturday events Jan. 13

Didn’t have time to register before the holidays? Stop by one of Lone Star College-North Harris’ Super Saturday registration events on Saturday, Jan. 13 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The events will take place at LSC-North Harris, LSC-Greenspoint Center and LSC-Victory Center.

During the events, representatives from the college’s various programs will be available to discuss education options with students and their families. For those interested in applying or registering for classes, additional staff will be available to assist with the application process. On-site services will include: financial aid assistance, admissions information, advising and New Student Orientation sessions.

Bacterial Meningitis vaccinations will also be available for students at the events at LSC-North Harris and LSC-Greenspoint Center.

As of January 1, 2012, all students entering college are required to show proof of an initial meningococcal vaccination or a booster dose during the five-year period prior to enrolling. They must get the vaccine at least 10 days before the semester begins. Spring classes begin Jan. 16.

Students may be eligible for a free meningitis vaccination from the Caring for Children Foundations’ Care Van and Harris County Public Health.

The LSC-North Harris vaccination clinic will serve students between the ages of 16-18 years old. Students who are 16 or 17 years of age must complete two forms signed by a parent or guardian. Parent/guardian does not have to be present the day of the vaccine as long as the parent/guardian signs the forms.

Students may be eligible for free vaccinations if they have Medicaid, if they do not have health insurance, if they have health insurance that does not cover certain vaccines or if they are an American Indian or Alaskan Native.

Students may be eligible for free vaccinations at LSC-Greenspoint Center if they do not have insurance or do not have private insurance.

Requirements:

  • Students 19 years old and older with no insurance at all
  • Students 18 years old and younger with no private insurance (these participants may have Medicaid, CHIP, or no insurance and still be eligible for the vaccines to be provided)
