As of January 1, 2012, all students entering college are required to show proof of an initial meningococcal vaccination or a booster dose during the five-year period prior to enrolling. They must get the vaccine at least 10 days before the semester begins. Spring classes begin Jan. 16.

Parent/guardian does not have to be present the day of the vaccine as long as the parent/guardian signs the forms.

Students may be eligible for free vaccinations if they have Medicaid, if they do not have health insurance, if they have health insurance that does not cover certain vaccines or if they are an American Indian or Alaskan Native.

Students may be eligible for free vaccinations at LSC-Greenspoint Center if they do not have insurance or do not have private insurance.

  • Students 19 years old and older with no insurance at all
  • Students 18 years old and younger with no private insurance (these participants may have Medicaid, CHIP, or no insurance and still be eligible for the vaccines to be provided)
