North Harris College, part of the North Harris Montgomery Community College District, recently named five faculty members as recipients of the 2007 Teaching Excellence Award. In a process that involves faculty, staff, and student recommendations, five instructors are selected each year from among all full-time faculty.
“North Harris College Teaching Excellence Awards recognize and honor outstanding faculty members and their essential role in the college. Quality teaching and innovative learning are the hallmark of the college, and these professors demonstrate excellence in teaching and learning,” says Dr. Steve Head, NHC interim president.
This year’s NHC award winners are Dr. James Good, history professor; Dr. Pat Gray, English professor; Michael Harman, biology professor; April Moore, physics professor, and Rami Shafiee, professor of economics.
The five outstanding faculty members will also be honored at an Lone Star College System banquet on March 23 and will also be individually recognized at the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD) international conference in Austin this May.
