Students, Community Invited to Listen as “Harlem Speaks” at Montgomery College

Dr. Cary Wintz, professor of history at Texas Southern University, will present “Harlem Speaks” at Montgomery College on Tuesday, April 10. The presentation will take place in Building B, Room 102, at 1 p.m. This event is sponsored by the Honors Student Organization and Phi Theta Kappa. 

Dr. Wintz will discuss his recently-published book, Harlem Speaks: A Living History of the Harlem Renaissance. The book is available in the Montgomery College Bookstore and there will be a book signing following his talk.

“This is a great opportunity for our students and the community to learn more about the Harlem Renaissance and African American culture of the early 20th century,” said Betsy Powers, professor of history at Montgomery College, and co-director of the college’s Honors Student Organization.
