Join a select group of 15 students this fall for a transformative leadership journey that combines campus-based learning with a magical trip to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida! This immersive program is designed to help you unlock your leadership potential, build meaningful connections, and gain real-world skills that will serve you personally and professionally.
What to Expect:
- On-Campus Workshops: Dive into key leadership principles, engage with your peers, and participate in thoughtful discussions centered around a powerful leadership book.
- Community Building: Connect with a diverse group of student leaders who share your passion for growth, service, and impact.
- Disney Imagination Campus Experience: In November, travel with the cohort to Disney for an unforgettable six-day, five-night experience, where you'll attend exclusive Disney workshops on:
- Leadership Strategies
- Teamwork Techniques
- Theme Park Design
You’ll explore how Disney trains its leaders and brings ideas to life, all while gaining insights you can apply to your own leadership roles and career goals. You’ll also participate in small group sessions, real-time park-based learning, and leave with a personalized leadership action plan.
Outcomes
By participating in the Lone Star College – University Park Disney Leadership Institute, students will:
- Learn what makes a team work well, what challenges teams face, and how to solve them.
- Understand why team agreement matters and how each person helps reach group goals.
- Discover how to recognize and use everyone’s strengths and talents on a team.
- Explore what kind of environment helps creativity and new ideas grow.
- Build a plan to become a strong leader and communicate clearly with your team.
- Learn how to keep things creative while still being safe and responsible.
- Practice clear, open communication between leaders and team members, including giving and receiving feedback.
- Explore different leadership styles, give examples, and figure out which one fits you best.

Pre-Trip Meeting:

Capstone Trip:

Cost and Requirements
Student Contribution:
As an investment in both the program and your personal growth, each selected participant is expected to contribute $150 towards the trip as a demonstration of your commitment.
If a student is unable to afford the $150 participation fee, they are encouraged to meet with the LSC UP Disney Leadership Institute Co-Advisors to discuss the possibility of receiving a scholarship to cover the cost. Limited scholarships are available and will be considered on a case-by-case basis to ensure all students have the opportunity to participate in this experience.

Eligibility Requirements:
To be considered for the program, students must meet the following criteria:
- Be at least 18 years old by the start of the trip
- Possess a valid government-issued ID
- Be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours at LSC–University Park
- Cumulative G.P.A. of 3.0 or higher
- Complete the application and participate in a selection interview
- Commit to attending all required sessions and activities
