Citizens for Animal Protection
Animal Shelter volunteer - Volunteers are needed to participate in activities
at the shelter in west Houston.  They will assist with the pet acoption process
or help with feeding, cleaning, and grooming of the animals.  They can also help
by answering phone inquiries and routing calls to appropriate staff.  Hours at shelter
are weekdays from 11 am to 5:30 pm, Saturday 11am to 5 pm, and Sunday from
1-5 pm.

Reading service for blind and low-vision people.  The person faxes what he needs
read to 1-877-333-8848.  The fax must include a cover sheet containing the vlind
person's name and number where he/she can be reached.  The faxed document can
be most anything.  A volunteer reader then calls the person and reads the document.

Volunteer "side walkers" are needed to accompany handicapped children in this
agency's therapeutic recreation program while they enjoy the thrill of a horseback
