Community service is one of the best ways to help benefit the public or give back to your community. It not only has positive effects on society, but it will benefit your life and personal development.

The Office of Student Life at Lone Star College-University Park organizes community service events throughout the year for students, registered student organizations, and all LSC UP community members to get involved in. As those opportunities present themselves, we will post them on the website.
In the meantime, you donít have to wait for Student Life to present the opportunity; you can get involved now by volunteering in your community. Here are some options to consider.
|Houston Pets Alive
|Opportunities vary from medical, helping at the pet store, fundraising, transporting, dog care, and more! Volunteers must be 18 or older
|Salvation Army Boys&Girls Club
|One time opportunities like bell ringing, group opportunities for student groups, or on going opportunities for those who want to get involved on a regular basis.

|Connect with organization for volunteer information.
|A Serene Health Services
|Volunteers needed vary from office volunteers to direct patient volunteers.
|They have a need for ushers, usher captains, program stuffers, and more!

|Simply visit the shelter any day Monday-Friday at 9am.
|Kids Meals on Wheels
|It takes hundreds of volunteers each week to prepare and pack thousands of meals. Volunteer shifts at Kidsí Meals are Monday-Friday 9am-12pm and 12:30pm-2:30pm. Volunteer opportunities include kitchen help, packing room, food prep areas, etc. Groups welcome
