The Six Dimensions of Wellness, based on Dr. Bill Hettler's research from the National Wellness Institute, these practices are a model used to assess and promote overall well-being and health. These dimensions cover various aspects of a person's life and provide a holistic approach to improving quality of life.

The Six Dimensions of Wellness are:

  1. Physical Wellness: This dimension involves taking care of your body through regular exercise, proper nutrition, sufficient rest, and avoiding harmful habits.
  2. Intellectual Wellness: It focuses on expanding knowledge and engaging in stimulating mental activities. This includes pursuing education, being curious, and challenging your mind.
  3. Social Wellness: This dimension involves building and maintaining positive relationships with others. It includes developing strong support systems, fostering healthy communication, and engaging in meaningful social interactions.
  4. Emotional Wellness: Emotional wellness is about understanding and managing your emotions effectively. It includes developing coping mechanisms, handling stress, and cultivating a positive outlook.
  5. Occupational Wellness: This dimension relates to finding fulfillment and satisfaction in your work or chosen career. It involves striving for work-life balance, setting career goals, and seeking professional growth.
  6. Spiritual Wellness: Spiritual wellness focuses on finding meaning and purpose in life. This can be achieved through meditation, religious practices, connecting with nature, or exploring one's beliefs and values.
