Dean Lee’s career in education has spanned over 26 years. She has taught at all levels from pre-school to higher education. Before accepting the position of the Dean of Division III at Lone Star College-CyFair (LSC-CF), she taught in the English Department for eight years before teaching in and leading the Teacher Education department for seven years. She was also a Faculty Senate President and led various positions of leadership at the LSC-CF.

She received a Faculty Excellence Award in 2014. Her passion is not only in teaching but in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives as well. She is an equity-minded leader and was recognized with the DEI Award in 2020, representing the faculty for the entire Lone Star College System.

After many years at LSC-CF, she has grown a passion for community college students and their future. She believes in the importance of community college educator representation when it comes to state-level decisions on curriculum and instruction. She has served on several boards, at the local, state, and national levels.

She earned her doctorate in education at the University of Texas at Austin in Higher Education Leadership and Policy. She also earned her Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Houston and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Baylor University. As a dean, Dr. Lee will support faculty in developing their goals and initiatives within their disciplines, as well as provide various pathways for students to fulfill their educational aspirations and career goals. Student success, in Dr. Lee’s perspective, is defined as helping students reach self-actualization so that they may become productive citizens in our society, provide for themselves and their families, and pursue their passions—all contributing to good health and a more secure livelihood.
