All LSC facilities will be closed through April 6. LSC Online classes that started before spring break will resume March 23. All remaining classes resume April 13. Check LoneStar.edu and your LSC email for updated information. All scheduled LSC events have been postponed until further notice.

Lone Star College spring semester update

All Lone Star College facilities will be closed March 18 - April 6.

“Lone Star College continues to monitor this developing situation and is working with local, state and federal authorities to determine what is best for our students and employees,” said Stephen C. Head, Ph.D., LSC chancellor. “In the meantime, all Lone Star College locations will continue to be closed to both students and employees.”

Below is a list of important dates (please keep in mind these dates are subject to change):

Monday, March 23

  • Online classes that started prior to Spring Break will resume.

March 23-April 6

  • Faculty convert classes to online where feasible.  Students will be notified about the status of their class, either online or face to face, prior to April 10th.

April 6-13

  • Finalize plans for restart.

April 13
(Which classes will be moved online and which will remain face to face will be shared with students by April 10th. All decisions will be made with each student’s health and academic success in mind.)

  • All remaining classes resume.
  • All LSC employees return to campus.
  • All Eight-week classes begin.

April 15

  • Fall Registration starts.

May 11

  • Mini-semester starts-(online only).

May 22

  • Spring Semester ends (original date as May 10).
  • Faculty completing classes before this date may submit grades.
  • Eight-week classes end.

June 1

  • First Summer Term begins.

“We are following recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and various local agencies,” said Head. “We will continue to provide additional updates to the LSC community as circumstances change.”

LSC encourages all employees and students to continue to adhere to the guidelines for preventing the contraction and spread of COVID-19 established by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention. This includes, but is not limited to, frequent washing of hands, using alcohol-based hand sanitizer, practicing social distancing, and seeking immediate medical care if one experiences any of the symptoms associated with COVID-19.
