Carolina was born in Bogota, the beautiful Colombian capital to Lebanese-Colombian parents. Since she was very young, she demonstrated her interest in Fine Arts and started voice and piano lessons. She painted on her own and eventually joined the art club in one of the best universities in her hometown where she eventually started pursuing a degree in music and Fine Arts. Soon after she completed her high school studies with an honor award in Literature and English language, she moved to Houston, Texas in 2002 where she has lived ever since. She continued working towards her Fine Arts degree, but in 2008, she started a degree in the health care field.
Besides the arts, Carolina enjoys learning foreign languages. She speaks fluent English and Spanish. She has improved her French by being Georges Detiveaux's former French student and she is currently improving her Arabic. She still enjoys music and painting, but she is currently focusing on her Nursing degree, "It is my vocation to be in the health care field; it is in my family, and I understand how rewarding it is to help others. Then again, Art is and will always be part of my life." In 2004, she became part of the tutoring staff at Cy-Fair where she contributed to the Writer's Circle, the foreign language program, and the reading and writing tutoring program. Today, she is part of the TLC Labs where she contributes to the language labs and the TLC Open lab in the technology center. "I hope to stay in the Labs for as long as I can providing students and faculty with the best service. I'm glad to have this opportunity which has helped me grow personally and professionally."
