Community Food Fair

LoneStar College, the Montgomery County food bank, and HAAM  are continuing their partnership this year to host our Wednesday Community Food Fairs in Parking Lot G.  The food fair offers free food to LSC students, employees, and community members to help fight food insecurities in the KW area.  The free food is donated by local grocery stores and other organizations, and usually includes plenty of fresh fruits and veggies which would otherwise go bad if they are not given away.

We need volunteers to make this event a success! If you are interested in helping us set up, direct traffic, package food, distribute food, or clean up, we could really use your help.  Come for as long or as short a time as you are able. The schedule for the day is as follows:

  • 9a.m to 10a.m. (Set Up)
  • 10a.m. to 11a.m. (Traffic Control and Packaging)
  • 11a.m. to 12p.m. (Food Distribution)
  • 12p.m. to 1p.m. (Food Distribution)
  • 1p.m. to 2p.m. (Clean Up)

2022/2023 Dates

  • TBD

For anyone in need of food, please contact these resources:

We are encouraging all Faculty, staff and students to participate.  Food distribution will start at 11am and end at 1pm. We really need 50 to 60 volunteers so this event was be successful.  Volunteers are also encouraged to take a box of free food for themselves if they can use it.  Please take a moment to consider offering time out of your day for this worthy cause.
