Lone Star College-Montgomery’s Jazz Ensemble and Combo Present Uniquely American

Lone Star College-Montgomery’s Jazz Ensemble and Combo will perform a free concert on Tuesday, November 17, at 7:30 p.m., on the main stage theatre in Building D. The concert will feature various styles by musical icons such as Duke Ellington, Rogers and Hammerstein, Sonny Rollins, and Miles Davis.

“We will be playing everything from swing to rock and Latin to bebop,” said Kris Chapman, director of bands at LSC-Montgomery. “There will be something for everyone to enjoy.”

Considered the only completely American musical style, jazz has captivated its listeners and performers for more than one hundred years. With its various influences, connections and collaborations, jazz is a celebration of American talent and diversity. The music department at LSC-Montgomery invites you to celebrate this uniquely American art form.
