Beginning March 30, Lone Star College-North Harris will be offering an eight-week night class at Carl Wunsche Sr. High School. The class, Introduction to Auto Technology, is one of the initial courses needed for an automotive technician certificate from the college’s continuing education program.
“We realize that one of the biggest obstacles to education can be scheduling,” said Allen Rice, director of continuing education. “These new offerings provide yet another option for those who want to pursue a career in the automotive repair industry, while still balancing work and family responsibilities.”
The Introduction to Auto Technology class will meet Monday through Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. The course is also linked to the college’s credit classes, meaning it can be counted toward the associate degree, or one of several credit certificates, offered at LSC-North Harris.
All of LSC-North Harris’ automotive technology programs are reviewed by the National Automotive Technician Education Foundation and are designed to prepare students for Automotive Service Excellence certification.
