LSC-North Harris esthetician program offering 12-week summer session

Don’t let your current job stand in the way of expanding your education. LSC-North Harris is now offering a part-time, evening 12-week summer session for esthetician students at the new CHI Lone Star College-North Harris School of Cosmetology.

The 2014 summer esthetician classes will begin May 27 and run through August 17. Classes meet Monday through Friday from 5 to 10 p.m. Additional evening classes will be offered in the fall semester, to allow students to continue pursuing their esthetician certification.

Estheticians, or skincare specialists usually work in salons, health and beauty spas, or, occasionally, medical offices. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the field is expected to grow substantially in the near future.

The summer offering will include two courses, CSME 1248- Principles of Skin Care and CSME 1420-Orientation to Facial Specialist.

The CHI LSC-North Harris School of Cosmetology works closely with local employers and industry partners to ensure its graduates are prepared to enter the workforce and compete for high-demand jobs. Prospective students are invited to attend one of our open houses at the new school, located at 910 E. Richey Road in Houston. Students will get the opportunity to tour the facility and meet with college representatives for more information on the programs offered.

The next scheduled open house will take place on Monday, May 5 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., with a second planned for Monday, June 2, also from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
