LSC-Tomball to celebrate graduation of over 900 students

TOMBALL, Texas LSC-Tomball will celebrate the 2017-2018 school year on Saturday, May 12, when graduates walk across the stage and earn their associate degree and/or certificate.

The college will hold two commencement ceremonies, at 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., at Faithbridge Church-Klein Campus, located at 18000 Stuebner Airline Rd, Spring, TX 77379. LSC-Tomball is awarding more than 900 associate degrees or certificates this year.

Though not all graduates will be in attendance at this year’s ceremony, the college is anticipating several hundred to be present. The commencement exercise is the pinnacle of the academic year. Representatives from the Lone Star College Board of Trustees and members of the Chancellor’s Cabinet will be present to join in the celebration.

The second ceremony will also celebrate the achievements of students who have successfully passed the General Education Development exam at LSC-Tomball.

Dr. Lee Ann Nutt, LSC-Tomball’s president, will preside over the commencement ceremonies. Dr. Quentin Wright, special assistant to the chancellor at Lone Star College, will deliver the keynote address. Wright is responsible for Lone Star College’s Student Success Institute, a program designed to increase college completion rates with an emphasis on African American students. He is also leading the effort to develop Lone Star College’s seventh campus, which will focus upon innovative practices for educating low-income students. Prior to his current position, Wright served as the vice president of instruction at LSC-Tomball.
