On April 1, Dan Mitsven, Lone Star College-North Harris student activities program manager arrived to an office filled to the brim with plastic grocery bags. The April Fools Day prank, organized by the college's Earth Alliance student group, was set in motion to create awareness about living a greener lifestyle.  Earth Alliance faculty sponsors, Janice Hartgrove-Freile and Kelly Weller, invited faculty, staff and students to donate 20 used grocery plastic bags. In turn, participants received an earth-friendly reusable canvas grocery bag. After surprising Mitsven, Earth Alliance recycled all donated plastic bags.
