Vy Nguyen was born on January 16, 1985 in Vietnam and moved to America when she was approximately one month old. She is proficient in speaking, reading, and writing Vietnamese as well as English. She has one older brother and two dogs.
She graduated from high school in May 2003 determined to pursue a degree in Dentistry. Her interest in dentistry continued to strengthen, as she became a member of the American Student Dental Association (ASDA) throughout college. The ASDA organization gave her an opportunity to explore dentistry with wonderful people of the same interest. Besides ASDA, she was also a part of the Biology & Biochemistry Undergraduate Association (BBUA). She obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with a Health and Vietnamese minor in 2008 and is currently attending the University of Houston to continue her education in obtaining another Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Upon graduating in December 2010, she plans to matriculate into dental school.
Her hobbies consist of painting, traveling, playing with her dogs, and learning new things. She has gained leadership attributes from previous employments such as instructing/tutoring math and reading, dental assistant, and manager at an insurance company. She also volunteered at various different charity organizations such as Ronald McDonald House and Skills4Living hoping to make a difference for those in need.
