Julian Ospina's Bio

Julian Ospina was born on October 24, 1980 in Colombia. When he was a teenager, he was very dedicated to sports. He was a Colombian national champion of judo (martial art) in 1993. He also played in the national championship of water polo, and his team won the silver medal for two consecutive years. In 2002, he obtained a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from the “Universidad Autonoma de Occidente”. He ranked fourth in his class, and obtained a scholarship for his outstanding academic performance. He worked at a health insurance company for four years, training and assisting executive managers in balance scorecard (a strategic performance management tool). Motivated by his desire to meet new cultures and learn others’ languages he moved with his wife to the United States in 2006. Currently, Julian is a student of Mechanical Engineering Technology at Lone Star College and enjoys working in the TLC Labs while he polishes his English and French.
