FAQ

How can I obtain the Phi Theta Kappa seal on my college diploma?

Will membership help me in graduate school?

Phi Theta Kappa membership is most helpful while enrolled in a two-year college.  Experiences gained while a member will help when seeking graduate admission.

Are we still members of Phi Theta Kappa if we transfer to a four-year institution?

Your membership continues as long as you meet the chapter eligibility requirements.  When you transfer, you will no longer meet the Beta Upsilon Nu requirement of being enrolled in at least 3.0 credit hours.  Therefore, your membership will end, and you will be known as Phi Theta Kappa alumni.

Does Phi Theta Kappa offer outdoor activities?

Chapter advisors, officers, and members meet regularly throughout the year to discuss a variety of activities to participate in.  Outdoor activities similar to Habitat for Humanity have been scheduled in the past.

What happens if I’m unable to maintain a 3.5 GPA after accepting membership?
