Take the L.E.A.D. is a student leadership program for current LSC-Montgomery students. The program began in Fall 2019 and was designed to offer students the opportunity to develop their student leadership skills through L.E.A.D. (Learning, Engagement, Action, and Development) events at no cost to participants. The campus wide initiative, sponsored in part by the Office of Student Life and facilitated by the Office of Enrollment Services was designed to engage students in meaningful activities, intentional conversations and leadership skills learning opportunities.
"Students always come first at Lone Star, and one of the ways we support the development of our students is through events designed to challenge and expand our horizons. Take the L.E.A.D. is a great opportunity for students to meet others who believe they can make a difference and to form alliances for the benefit of their colleges and communities. It’s a fun way to create friendships while developing your leadership abilities at the same time!” ~ Dr. Rebecca Riley, LSC-Montgomery President
In Fall 2019, the Office of Student Life hosted Catalyst, a one-day student leadership conference for LSC-Montgomery students and registered student organization (RSO) sponsors. The conference was facilitiated by Leadershape and provided students and staff with professional development leadership training.
