Student Guidelines

TSIA2 Testing
Students must have all the required documents in order to test:

  • Test Referral Form. Obtained in person from Advising: Building 13, Suite 200. For more information, email UPAdvising@lonestar.edu or call 281.401.5370.
  • Payment for test: in person at the Business Office or Online Payment
  • Pre-Assessment Activity (P.A.A.) certificate of completion.** If you have not completed your P.A.A., please visit https://practice.accuplacer.org/login. Create an Accuplacer account, and then sign back into the tool, choose the third option - PRE-ASSESSMENT PRACTICE - and do both the ELAR and Math practice tests. At completion, you will receive an email of completion.

Lone Star College Professor Tests

  • Students must know the name of their instructor, class, and specific test they wish to take.
  • Students may bring their own personal calculators. If you do not have one, the Testing Center can provide you with one. All graphing calculators must be presented to a Testing Center Proctor before testing. *Please Note: CAS graphic calculators are not allowed, unless your Professor specifically notates the use of them. 

Important Information for All Testers

  • No testing will begin one-hour prior to closing.
  • A valid picture I.D. must be presented; driver's license, passport, work or school I.D.  We cannot accept a photo of your I.D. from your phone or any digital I.D.
  • All cell phones must be turned off and are prohibited in the testing room.
  • Lockers are provided for storing your personal items.
  • No food, drinks, or gum/candy allowed in the testing room.
  • No children will be allowed in the Testing Center during testing, and children cannot be left unattended outside of the Testing Center. 
  • Students are responsible for bringing instructor allowed materials required for testing.
  • Students who require special accommodations must have approved accommodations on file through the Lone Star Disabilities Services Office. If approved for a private testing room, it can be scheduled through Register Blast, 48-hours in advance.

 

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)

Do I need to schedule an appointment for either a TSIA2 test and/or an Accuplacer Math (Advanced Math-Next Generation) test?
     No, simply visit us during our regular business hours.

When I finish the test, will I receive my scores immediately?
     Yes. *Occasionally, the Essay portion of a test may be randomly selected for "hand scoring" by Accuplacer. If that's the case, we will usually have your Essay score within 24 hours.

Do I have to finish all parts of my test the same day?
     No, you will be provided 13 days from the day you start your test to complete it. The 13 days include Holidays,
     Sundays, Spring Break, etc., so please plan accordingly.
