Lone Star College Testing Centers provide a variety of testing services to students. Most testing centers require appointments but for any center allowing walk-ins, please note that no testing will begin within the last hour prior to closing. Please contact the specific campus where you will be testing for more details on that location. This page includes contact information, operating hours and links to each campus testing center.
All students, unless considered TSIA2 Exempt, must take the TSIA2 assessment prior to enrolling at LSC. Enrollment in most college-level courses requires scores high enough to place into the college-level courses or students will need to complete all appropriate developmental coursework with a “C” or better.
The new TSIA2 exam begins on January 11, 2021 and Lone Star College now has a new version of the Pre-Assessment Activity (PAA) that is required before you can test.
Students enrolled in online or hybrid courses should work with their instructors on testing requirements. Taking an academic exam in the Testing Centers may be one of the options for your course but must be pre-approved by your instructor.
Students enrolled in face-to-face courses with approved accommodations or approved make-up exams may use the Testing Centers for their exam but must be pre-approved by the instructor.
External Correspondence Exams for non-LSC Schools
External exams for other schools are administered in some Testing Centers, not all. The cost is $25 per exam. Please visit the specific Testing Center's webpage for more details.
Lone Star College has established equivalent course credit for minimum passing scores for several external challenge examination programs, including the Achievement test (ACT), College Level Examination Program (CLEP), AVANT Placement, Advanced Placement (AP), and International Baccalaureate (IB).
Not all Testing Centers offer CLEP exam. Please check with each individual testing center for availability.
Lone Star College students with previous language experience must take the Avant Foreign Language Placement Exam prior to enrolling in language courses to be placed into the correct level. Contact a Lone Star College Testing Center for more information.
