Office of the Executive Vice Chancellor, Academics
Seelpa Keshvala, Ph.D. joined Lone Star College in 2016 when she was named president of Lone Star College-CyFair. In 2021, she was promoted to Executive Vice Chancellor & CEO of Lone Star College-Online where she led the development of our 8th campus. In 2024, she was appointed Executive Vice Chancellor of Academics. Her responsibilities now include oversight of all functions within Academics as well as the Lone Star College-University Centers. She also directly supervises the college presidents.
Dr. Keshvala's 26-year career in education spans K-12, community college, & 4-year public institutions. Prior to joining Lone Star College, Dr. Keshvala served as President of Ivy Tech Community College-Warsaw Campus located in Indiana. She has also held administrative roles in New Jersey, Iowa, and Wisconsin. Dr. Keshvala has 10 years of experience as a community college president/CEO and 10 years of teaching experience. She earned a Ph.D. in Urban Education with a concentration in Educational Administration, an M.S. in Curriculum & Instruction, and a B.S. in Elementary Education with a minor in English all from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
Office of Academics
The Office of Academics administers a broad range of functions related to supporting the instructional operations of the college. Our team members oversee programs and initiatives in support of the completion and success of our students through academic planning, assessment, curriculum development, compliance, academic policy development, learning support, and accreditation. Lone Star College is accredited through the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).
Lone Star College-University Centers
The LSC-University Centers provide individuals with the opportunity to earn their bachelor's, master's, and/or doctorate degrees through our partner universities. These partner universities offer programs during the day, evenings, weekends, and fully online to accommodate busy schedules and to make higher education more accessible to the residents of the greater Houston area.
