Office of Academics

The Office of Academics, under the leadership of Dr. Seelpa Keshvala, Executive Vice Chancellor of Academics, is comprised of both the Office Academic Affairs and the Lone Star College Campuses. Together, we support the Lone Star College Vision and Mission.
Vision: The System will lead higher education in offering high-quality, affordable education while consistently evolving to meet the community's needs in academic and workforce education.
Mission: The System provides transformational educational opportunities that help individuals get from where they are to where they want to be.

At the System Level, the Office of Academic Affairs oversees academic planning, curriculum development, regulatory compliance, developmental education, library services, university transfer articulation, academic policy development, and support for health occupation programs, and the Bachelor's degree programs.

Christina Hagerty, Ed.D.
Interim Chief Academic Officer
Dr. Hagerty joined Lone Star College as the Senior Associate Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs in 2023 having been the Vice President of Instruction at LSC-Tomball, and the Dean of Instruction for the Public Service, Health, and Behavioral Sciences division at LSC-CyFair.

At the campus level, the president is the chief decision-maker who is responsible for the operational decisions that are unique and specific to an individual college. The Lone Star College presidents are conscientious, dedicated and always willing to go the extra mile for each of our students.

Dr. Valerie Jones joined Lone Star College-CyFair as the fourth President in June 2022 having been the Associate Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs since 2019.

Dr. Melissa N. Gonzalez is the sixth President at Lone Star College-Kingwood. Prior to this position, she served as the President of Houston Community College-Southeast from 2017-2021.

Quentin A. Wright, Ed.D.

Opened 2019
Dr. Wright is the Founding President of LSC-Houston North. Prior to this position, he served as the Special Assistant to the Chancellor, Interim Vice Chancellor of Academic Success, Interim Vice Chancellor of Student Success, and Vice President of Instruction at Lone Star College-Tomball.

De' Reese Reid-Hart Ed.D.

Dr. De' Reese Reid-Hart is the fifth President of Lone Star College-Montgomery. Prior to this position, she served as the Dean of Instruction and Continuing Education at Kennedy-King College in Illinois.

Bennie Lambert, Ph.D.

Lone Star College-North Harris
Opened 1973
Dr. Bennie Lambert was named the ninth President of Lone Star College-North Harris in August 2023. Dr. Lambert returned to LSC-North Harris after serving as Vice President for Student Success at LSC-CyFair since 2015.

Dr. Carlos R. Morales is the inaugural President of Lone Star College-Online. Dr. Morales comes to Lone Star College System from Tarrant County College in Fort Worth, where he served as founding President of the college's virtual campus.

Dr. Lee Ann Nutt is the fifth president of LSC-Tomball. Prior to assuming the President position, Dr. Nutt served as the LSC-Tomball's Vice President of Instruction for almost four years.
